Source & Summary

Summary

The FDA is seeking small business input on solutions that can use satellite imagery and AI to map and analyze leafy green farms in California and identify Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) in other high-priority states. The system will generate historical and current farm boundaries, harvest cycle data, and CAFO attributes (e.g., area, proximity to water, activity status). Results will feed into an ArcGIS dashboard for outbreak investigation and pre-harvest risk assessment, supporting food safety and public health decision-making.
