Summary

The University of Minnesota is soliciting proposals for the Core, GigaPOP, and Remote Sites Network Segment of its Next Generation Network (NGN) project. The scope includes the purchase of routers across multiple performance tiers: core routers supporting 10G–400G, IPSEC routers supporting 10G–100G, and route reflectors; remote site routers from 1G–100G; and GigaPOP routers up to 800G. Vendors are expected to provide associated software licensing, support services, and integration into the university’s updated NGN3 architecture. This RFP is one of three NGN network infrastructure procurements, alongside Data Center and WiFi Segments.
