Artificial Intelligence Optic and Computer Vision Platform for Mosquito and Tick Identification

The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is conducting market research to identify small businesses capable of providing an AI-driven optic and computer vision platform for species identification of mosquitoes and adult-stage ticks. The system must be able to distinguish at least 58 mosquito species and 31 adult-stage tick species, with capabilities equivalent to the Vectech IDX Standard System (including imaging trays, dashboard, algorithm license, and travel case). This technology supports U.S. agriculture by aiding in the detection of invasive species and monitoring vectors that may carry harmful pathogens.
