RFI: Federal Student Aid (FSA) Technology Modernization Initiative (Updated)

The Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid (FSA) is seeking industry feedback on strategies to modernize its technology systems as part of the Technology Modernization Initiative, supporting implementation of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This RFI explores options for replacing legacy systems, integrating siloed data, consolidating vendor solutions, and enhancing services to students and borrowers. FSA is considering greenfield rebuilds, incremental improvements, or hybrid approaches, and is requesting insights on planning, cost, testing, and oversight best practices. An Industry Day will be held on August 22, 2025.
