Fiber Optic Network Public Private Partnership

The City of Pasadena is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) regarding a potential public-private partnership for a city-wide fiber optic network. The goal is to leverage the City's extensive existing infrastructure, including 1,570 miles of conduit, 8,150 utility poles, and 171 miles of municipal fiber cable, to achieve ubiquitous fiber services for residents and businesses. The RFI seeks to evaluate private assets, capabilities, investment options, and qualifications to minimize overbuild and enhance community connectivity.
