Developing A Smartphone App To Enhance Older Driver Safety

NHTSA is seeking a contractor to design, develop, and pilot test a smartphone application (APP) aimed at reducing the cognitive workload and crash risk for older drivers. The APP will assist drivers by alerting them to upcoming changes (like speed limit transitions or sharp curves) and helping them avoid high-risk maneuvers (like unprotected left turns). The project includes a field operational test design and required supporting documentation for a subsequent study.
