Leased Dark and Lit Fiber Services

Buffalo Public Schools is seeking proposals to renew or establish a new service contract for dark fiber or lit fiber services, with a start date no later than July 1, 2026. The district is considering leased dark fiber (two strands of single mode fiber), leased lit fiber services, or Ethernet services to support E-Rate eligibility requirements. The district has operated a dark fiber network for 19 years.
